DISCOP Budapest will take place from Tuesday 21 to Thursday 23 June at the Sofitel Chain Bridge Hotel in Budapest, Hungary. The 3-day market will primarily cover Central and Eastern Europe, a world region fuelled by:
In a nutshell, the economic downturn in Central and Eastern Europe has resulted in several main trends for the region: channels have clearly lowered their budgets because of high-cost productions, big shiny floor formats are still hot, but mostly relying on proven titles, reality shows remain attractive and finished non-scripted programming continues to sell well on regional multi-territory broadcasters or local niche nets. Broadcasters from the region have also started co-operating more and more in the production and distribution of local content.
The last edition of our DISCOP market targeting Northern, Central and Eastern Europe brought together 1200 participants representing 710 international companies: 304 of them attending as content SELLERS and 406 as content BUYERS.
The DISCOP Budapest program will include a special event on the 20th of June that offers guests a special visit to the brand new MTVA studios, followed by a presentation by Lidia Morton, Director of International Relations, on the current, exciting changes in the Hungarian Public media system & international coproduction opportunities for producers. This will be followed by a special screening of a recent, award-winning Hungarian film and a cocktail reception. Should you wish to join us, please confirm your participation with Irem Couchouron before the 10th of June via email at iremcouchouron[at]basiclead.com
