OVERVIEW OF SUBSIDIES, GRANTS, TAX BENEFITS, PRIVATE LOANS AND OTHER TV CONTENT CO-PRODUCTION INCENTIVES AVAILABLE IN THE CEE

With the recent enlargement of the European Union, the proposed entry of the Balkans to the EU, a booming CEE-based television industry and the recent revision of the “Television without Frontiers” directive, the number of pan-European co-production deals involving Central & Eastern European partners will continue to increase considerably.

In these changing times, many new subsidies, grants, tax benefits, private loans and other production incentives will become available to Central & Eastern European television content producers and their other European partners.

For all these reasons, the DISCOP ORGANIZATION will present on Tuesday 19 June,2007 at the SOFITEL ATRIUM HOTEL in Budapest, the inaugural edition of DISCOPRO, a new conference and networking program dedicated to international coproduction opportunities involving Central & Eastern European partnerships.

As a prelude to the 15th Anniversary Edition of the annual DISCOP formats and content market, which will bring 1500 programming, acquisition, production and distribution executives involved in Central & Eastern Europe, the first DISCOPRO will present an in-depth overview of all the EU, government and privately-backed incentives packages available to stimulate pan-European coproductions in the CEE, followed by afternoon meeting sessions between qualified participants.
