In 2017, news agencies are still struggling to develop and sustain their model in francophone sub-Saharan Africa, particularly with regard to video. Television publishers remain the main producers of local news. In this session, we will hear international experts give some lines of thought for the realization of attractive and internationally marketable contents. African specialists will explain what “News” formats are acclaimed by the African audiences and the diaspora. We will evaluate the technologies and tools available for the monetization of News contents in the time of convergence. Finally, we will discuss the phenomenon of "Observers", these amateur productions filmed each day by witnesses and study how the TV channels can optimize the content.
