WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN DISCOP CLUB AND THE PREVIOUS DISCOP ONLINE CONTENT CATALOG?

DISCOP CLUB fills the needs expressed by our Buyers.  It is much more appealing and user-friendly than the Content Catalog.

DISCOP CLUB comes with many more features:

  • Quality screening.  Whether it’s a desktop computer or a mobile phone, DISCOP CLUB provides a fast, high quality video playback experience for viewers across multiple devices.  DISCOP CLUB web player supports Adaptive Bitrate streaming support (ABR) which helps optimize the streaming experience for viewers, based on their current bandwidth.  If a viewer's bandwidth changes during video playback, the stream will automatically adjust according to their current bandwidth capacity.  The player focuses on displaying the most optimal quality based on historic bandwidth data and knowledge of the network conditions. 

  • The option to feature a full-length version or full-length episode of the program, in addition of the trailer.  The full-length versions are available only to registered BUYERS.

  • The option to feature projects in development.

  • A team of PERSONAL SHOPPERS.  They are dedicated to reviewing, indexing and storing the content, thereby giving Vendors and Producers more personalized attention.

  • Improvement of the interactions between Vendors and Buyers. The CHAT WINDOW will allow Buyers to ask questions about the content, and schedule meetings with Vendors ahead of a market.

  • More visibility for the content among Buyers all year round.  A strong communication strategy (online and on the phone) will promote DISCOP CLUB with persistent frequency.

  • Analytics.  We can provide analytical data to best inform you about the Buyers’ reach (number of impressions, number of plays, stream hours by consumer, most requested videos, …)

DO I HAVE TO BE A REGISTERED VENDOR / PRODUCER AT A DISCOP MARKET TO HAVE MY CONTENT AVAILABLE ON DISCOP CLUB?

Yes.  In order to have your content featured on DISCOP CLUB, you must register as a Vendor or as a Producer with a DISCOP Market beforehand.

I AM A REGISTERED PRODUCER/VENDOR,WHAT’S THE PROCESS TO HAVE MY CONTENT ON DISCOP CLUB?

All Registered Vendors/Producers are offered a “Visibility Package,” allowing them to feature 5 programs for a full year free of charge.

You have the opportunity to upload more then 5 programs or projects at a minimal cost.  Each additional package of 5 programs for 12 months costs $500 USD.  There’s no limit to the number of packages you can purchase.

The process is fast and easy.  Once you have confirmed your interest (you can download the Booking Form HERE), you fill one METADATA FORM per program + send us yourVIDEO FILES.   If the information you provide is complete and no editing is required for the synopsis, your programs can be featured on DISCOP CLUB within 24 hours of reception.

IF I AM A REGISTERED VENDOR/PRODUCER TO MORE THAN ONE DISCOP MARKET, HOW MUCH CONTENT CAN I FEATURE ON DISCOP CLUB?

With each registration comes a “Visibility Package” allowing you to feature 5 programs/projects for 12 months free of charge.  Let’s say you are registered to 2 DISCOP Markets, you can have 10 programs on the platform free of charge.

CAN I SWAP OUT ONE PROGRAM FOR ANOTHER DURING THE 12 MONTHS PERIOD?

Once its featured in the digital showroom, you can’t swap one program out for another.  However, you can update the metadata or request that your program be removed.  If you want to feature new programs, you must purchase a $500 USD package of 5 programs for 12 months.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY 5 PROGRAMS AFTER THE 12 MONTH FREE PERIOD?

Option 1: You don’t register to another DISCOP Market edition.  After the free period of 12 months, you will be offered to renew the booking with a package of 5 programs for 12 month at $500 USD.  If you don’t want to renew the subscription, the 5 programs will be deleted from the platform.

Option 2: You register to another DISCOP Market. You get a new free visibility package. You may chose to keep the 5 same programs or to upload new programs.

WHAT REGIONS ARE COVERED BY DISCOP CLUB?

DISCOP CLUB covers same marketplace as DISCOP.  DISCOP CLUB has been designed for acquisition executives (A.K.A Buyers) servicing Africa and the Middle East.  With a combined population of 1.5 billion, Africa and the Middle East are reasserting themselves as the world’s most coveted entertainment and media marketplaces.

Africa and the Middle East still account for a very marginal share in B2B content trading, both in volume and in value. However, these regions anticipate dynamic growth in the near future.   Strong smartphone penetration, the falling cost of data and rising disposable income will put hundreds of millions of potential content consumers in play, 70% or them under the age of 25.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY PROGRAM(S) IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE IN AFRICA AND THE MIDDLE EAST?

Then it is useless to feature your programs on DISCOP CLUB.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY PROGRAM(S) ARE NOT AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE IN AFRICA AND THE MIDDLE EAST?

When you fill the METADATA FORM to submit your program, you are asked to list the territories by answering 2 questions:

Is the program available in: NORTHERN AFRICA? SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA? THE MIDDLE EAST?

Within these regions, list the countries where the content is NOT available

This information can be updated whenever you wish during the period of 12 months.

HOW THE CONTENT WILL BE FEATURED ON DISCOP CLUB?

Each program/project are displayed within a player.

For each Program / Project submitted, you can feature at least 1 of these 3 options:

·       1 - A Trailer (visible to all viewers on Discop Club)

·       2 - A full-length version or full-length episode (restricted screening available exclusively to Discop Registered Buyers)

·       3 - A thumbnail image (primarily for Projects in Development)

In case you don’t submit a video file, the content will be featured with a static image only.

The data about each program/project is visible to all visitors.

On the website, visitors can filter the content based on basic information such as content type (film, TV, etc.), genre, status, available territories.

HOW DO I KNOW MY CONTENT IS SECURED?

Sellers and Producers can feel confident knowing their content is safely protected, thanks to ZYPE, the secure hosting and distribution video platform we use to store your files.  ZYPE ensures video content is stored and delivered with security in mind.  ZYPE's Video Access Protection service utilizes token-based authentication with content expiration.  This provides security to protect video content from unauthorized access, while maintaining ubiquitous device support.  The technology includes the ability to whitelist users by geographic location.  In addition, all authentication viewing is logged so we can monitor for abuse and take action against users that violate our terms of service.
